Update #2 Monday, July 25 2005
Update Thursday, September 25 2003
I haven't been posting lately because I've been working on a MSN client which supports protocol 2 (which will not work in a couple weeks). I'm currently working on upgrading it to the new protocol 8, which uses a new authentication logon using HTTPS. As I get things working, I may post some material in relation to the MSN protocol.

Clan Channel Movement Monday, June 30 2003
With the introduction of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Battle.net chat channels with the prefix "Clan" are reserved for Warcraft III clans.
Users of the "classic" clan channels (supported by Diablo II and Starcraft) can get the old functionality of clan channels by using "/join op " instead of "/join clan ".
Clan Disclaimer has moved to Op Disclaimer. As well, Clan [vL] has moved to Op [vL], with a Warcraft III experimental channel division at Clan vL. |
RE: Clan Disclaimer Wednesday, June 4 2003
Some people have been wondering what exactly Clan Disclaimer is. Clan Disclaimer is simply a channel that I've created which I can usually be contacted in, and others are welcome as well. Unlike other moderated channels, I have not enforced strict moderation rules. This is not a clan - it is a channel which anyone is welcome to join. The only policy that applies (which is expected for any public area) is that any disputers that the majority of active people in the channel want removed, will be taken out by the channel's moderator - which is hosted on the Valhalla Legends server.

I've opened up the Battle.net channel Clan Disclaimer to the public again; feel free to stop by.
SC/BW Version 1.10 Monday, March 31 2003
Starcraft and Brood War have been patched today. The new "version byte" is now 0xC7 (199). I hear that the Battle.net Logon Server (BNLS) will be updated soon to the new game changes. Sometime after BNLS is updated, an updated version of WebBot, and possibly EternalChat (if necessary), will be sent out.
Server Update Wednesday, March 26 2003
Battle.net updated their servers today, slightly. The only change so far that has been discovered is a new join channel event flag code - 4000h - redirected channel. Some of us have instantly implemented this new code in our bots for display of channel type. If any other changes in this update are found that would be related to bot development, I will post it here.
EternalChat Saturday, March 22 2003
A new version of EternalChat will soon be released. If you have any suggestions for changes or new ideas, feel free to post them on the EternalChat Forum.
New Look for Forums Saturday, March 22 2003
The Valhalla Legends forum now has a new look and new features have been added - check it out!
Custom Error Page Saturday, March 15 2003
I've completed the custom HTTP error page. Any entered URLs on the bot development web site that are not found, forbidden access, etcetera, will display an error page explaining the problem. A random quote is also there for your viewing enjoyment!
